The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that a 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Kemah district of Erzincan on February 6, 2026, at 14:16. While the epicenter of the tremor was stated as Kemah, the depth of the earthquake was recorded as 4.52 kilometers.
A DIFFERENT ASSESSMENT FROM THE KANDİLLİ OBSERVATORY
The Kandilli Observatory announced a different magnitude value regarding the earthquake. According to Kandilli, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.0 and its depth was recorded as 3.7 kilometers.
