In the money laundering case being heard at the Ankara 77th Criminal Court of First Instance, which began in the first week of November and involves 38 defendants—12 of whom are in custody and 6 of whom are fugitives—defendants Erhan Arslan, Murat Abaz, and Savaş Akçay were released on November 7 with judicial control measures involving a travel ban, while Ozan Can Yıldız, Hıncal Alper Tansu, and Hasan Çalış, the brother-in-law of Bora Kaplan, were released under house arrest.
Meanwhile, the court had decided that the monthly detention review of the defendants would be evaluated ex officio through the file on December 4.
As a result of the evaluation made today, the 77th Criminal Court of First Instance decided to continue the detention of Bora Kaplan and Fethi Koyuncu, who were sentenced to prison yesterday in the organized crime case at the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court, while releasing Barış Kurt, Cemil Kumaşçıoğlu, Ersoy Yahya, and Tansel Aktan—who were released in the organized crime case but could not leave prison due to the money laundering case—under the judicial control conditions of house arrest and a travel ban.
