Altınbaş University dismissed 42 academics, citing "loss of profit" as the reason. Prof. Dr. Alper Kaliber, who has served as an academic for 11 years, announced that he and his wife, Lecturer Esra Kaliber, were dismissed without any prior notification.

According to the report by Berfin Baysan from Birgün, Prof. Dr. Kaliber stated that they would pursue legal action against the dismissal decision, saying, "My wife Esra Kaliber and I were abruptly dismissed from Altınbaş University, where we had worked for approximately 11 years, trained countless students, and contributed to numerous publications and research projects. And this happened just 3 days after I returned from my sabbatical leave, while the semester had already begun... Moreover, if they had notified us of this 2 months ago, I could have extended my contract in Brazil for up to 4 years. They took this opportunity away from me. The university in Brazil wanted me to stay there, but I declined because I was going to return to Altınbaş University. If they had stated that they would dismiss us earlier, I would not have been this victimized."
