The Osmaniye Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams launched an investigation following intelligence that historical artifacts were being brought into the city center.
As a result of physical surveillance, a passenger bus with an identified license plate was stopped. During a search of the suspect's bag, 477 coins and bronze objects determined to date back to the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Cilician Armenian Kingdom periods were seized.
Judicial proceedings were initiated against the detained suspect for "violating the Law on the Protection of Cultural and Natural Property."
