'4th and 5th floors' found critical in Grand Kartal Hotel inspection report

Following inspections conducted after the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has released a report classifying the hotel as "heavily damaged." It was noted that the 4th and 5th floors of the building were particularly critical.

In a statement from the Ministry, it was recalled that the building was classified as "heavily damaged" following inspections conducted by the Bolu Provincial Directorate teams after the fire.

4TH AND 5TH FLOORS OF THE HOTEL ARE CRITICAL

The statement, which noted that a delegation including academics conducted inspections at the burned hotel, recorded the following:

"Following the inspection, a detailed damage assessment report was published and submitted to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The delegation, which examined the building's columns, beams, and slabs, within the scope of the Damage Assessment Circular No. 7663 and disaster impact determination studies, concluded that due to the fire being highly effective and the 4th and 5th floors being critical, it would be appropriate to evaluate the building as 'heavily damaged,' and that in accordance with this report, it would be appropriate to await the completion of the ongoing legal process and the expert report before any administrative action is taken regarding the building, and to proceed with the necessary actions thereafter."
