In the second wave of an operation regarding a "corruption" investigation into the Yahşihan Municipality in Kırıkkale, 5 out of 10 suspects referred to the court have been arrested.
As part of the investigation conducted by the Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command carried out an operation on October 8. The 9 individuals detained during the operation were sent to the courthouse after their procedures at the gendarmerie were completed.
Deputy Mayor İbrahim Aydın, who was detained in a separate investigation on allegations of accepting a 100 thousand lira bribe, was also included in the file concerning the Yahşihan Municipality. Thus, the number of suspects brought before the court rose to 10.
Following the prosecutor's office procedures, the court issued arrest warrants for Yahşihan Deputy Mayor Aydın Demirdirek, Deputy Mayors Satılmış Serkan Yıldıran and İbrahim Aydın, municipal secretary Canan Demirkaya, and Elif Biçer, the wife of former Zoning Manager Ulaş Biçer, who was arrested in the first wave of the operation. The 5 suspects were sent to prison after their processing.
The court ruled for the release of former municipal employees Ahmet Kızılçiçek, Faruk Dadalı, and Ömer Hazar, as well as secretary Ayşe Öztürk, under judicial control conditions. Aliye Demirkaya, the mother-in-law of former Zoning Manager Ulaş Biçer, was released to be tried without arrest.
