5 forest workers and 5 AKUT volunteers martyred in Eskişehir fire

Eskişehir Deputy Nebi Hatipoğlu announced the news that 10 forest workers were martyred in the forest fire that broke out in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir.

The fire, which started yesterday in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir, spread rapidly, and footage emerged showing the moments when a team responding to the fire was trapped in the flames. 

The fire, which advanced as far as Afyonkarahisar, had tragic consequences! Eskişehir Deputy Nebi Hatipoğlu reported that 10 forest workers were martyred.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FOR THE MARTYRS FROM ERDOĞAN

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated the following regarding the 5 forest workers and 5 AKUT personnel who were martyred in the forest fire in Eskişehir: "I pray for God's mercy upon our brothers who fought at the cost of their lives to protect our forests, and I extend my condolences to their families and our nation."

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM INTERIOR MINISTER YERLIKAYA

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya issued a condolence message for the forest workers and AKUT volunteers who were martyred in the forest fire that occurred in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir.

In a post on his social media account, Interior Minister Yerlikaya stated, "The forest fire in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir has also burned our hearts. Unfortunately, we have lost 10 of our people as martyrs in the fire, 5 of whom were forest workers and 5 of whom were AKUT volunteers. I pray for God's mercy upon our martyrs who lost their lives in the fire, and I extend my condolences to their families and our beloved nation. I wish a speedy recovery to our 14 injured citizens who are continuing their treatment in hospitals. May the stations of our martyrs be exalted."

INVESTIGATION ANNOUNCEMENT FROM MINISTER TUNÇ

Minister of Justice Tunç made a statement regarding the fire. Tunç provided information that an investigation has been launched into the forest fire in Eskişehir.

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER TUNÇ REGARDING THE BODIES OF THE MARTYRS

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that the bodies of the forest martyrs, which were brought to Afyonkarahisar State Hospital, have been transferred to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Group Presidency.

In a post on his social media account, Minister of Justice Tunç stated, "The bodies of our forest martyrs brought to Afyonkarahisar State Hospital are being transferred to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Group Presidency for identification and DNA analysis."

STATEMENT FROM HEALTH MINISTER MEMİŞOĞLU REGARDING THE FIRE IN ESKİŞEHİR

Health Minister Memişoğlu provided information regarding the health status of those injured in the forest fire. Memişoğlu stated the following:

In the tragic incident that occurred during the response to the forest fire in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir, 5 of our forest workers and 5 of our AKUT volunteers were martyred. I pray for God's mercy upon our dear martyrs and extend my condolences to their grieving families, loved ones, and our nation.

The treatment of 7 of our injured continues in our hospitals. The condition of 6 of our injured is good, while 1 of our injured is being closely monitored in intensive care. Our other injured have been discharged.

The treatment processes for our patients are being followed meticulously, and I wish our injured a speedy recovery.

I once again pray for God's mercy upon our heroes who lost their lives in this painful event.

HATİPOĞLU USED THE FOLLOWING EXPRESSIONS IN HIS POST

In his post, Hatipoğlu stated, "Unfortunately, there are no words to describe our sorrow. 

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our 10 heroic forestry workers who were martyred while battling the flames in the forest fire that broke out in Seyitgazi.

I pray for God's mercy upon these selfless brothers who gave their lives to protect our homeland and our forests, and I extend my patience and condolences to their families." he said. 

MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY YUMAKLI ALSO MADE A STATEMENT

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı also made a statement regarding the loss of life. Yumaklı stated, "We have lost 5 forestry workers and 5 AKUT worker brothers."
