Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 5 suspects who threatened the family of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life following a knife attack in Kadıköy, and made posts praising the criminals have been arrested by security forces.
Yerlikaya's statement is as follows:
"15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi lost his life as a result of a knife attack in Kadıköy, Istanbul.
Following this tragic incident, 5 suspects who posted messages on social media accounts praising the perpetrators and containing threats against the family were arrested by our security forces.
The suspects identified as B.A., H.E.A, K.G., E.K., and A.S.D., 4 of whom are Children Driven to Crime (SSÇ), have been transferred to our Public Security Branch Directorate.
We called the grieving mother of our child, Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, Yasemin Hanım, by phone to share her pain once again. I wish God's mercy upon our child who lost his life; I extend my condolences to his family and loved ones."
