Following reports of the suspensions, the Istanbul University State Conservatory claimed that the decision does not officially correspond to a suspension, stating, “It is a decision by the Rectorate. There is no explanation.” The administrative unit of the Rectorate stated that they were “unaware” of the decision.

According to the report by Ceren Bala Teke from T24, the following statement was made by the Istanbul University State Conservatory regarding the matter: “The official equivalent is not a suspension. It is a decision by the Rectorate. There is no justification. We are continuing education with our tenured professors.”
