6.0 magnitude earthquake in Japan
A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the Ogasawara Islands, south of Japan's capital Tokyo, at 09:39 local time.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the 6.0 magnitude earthquake, with its epicenter off the coast of the Ogasawara Islands, was recorded at a depth of 50 kilometers.
No tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake.
The Ogasawara Islands, also known as the "Bonin Islands" in the region, are located 1000 kilometers south of Japan's capital Tokyo and 1600 kilometers northwest of Guam in the Western Pacific.
