A total of 6.5 million TL in personnel expenses has been allocated for the Directorate of Neighborhood Services at the Kocaeli Darıca Municipality, which reportedly has no staff. YENİ Party member Erhan Balıkçı asked, "Did you hire people for the job, or did you create a job for the people?"
Balıkçı's reaction also received support from the AKP Mayor of Darıca, Muzaffer Bıyık.
6.5 MILLION IN PERSONNEL EXPENSES
The second session of the Darıca Municipality October council meeting was held on Thursday at the municipal council hall located in the Rüstem Metin Yurttaş Cultural Center.
Speaking at the meeting chaired by Mayor Muzaffer Bıyık, YENİ Party Council Member Erhan Balıkçı drew attention to the budget allocated to the Directorate of Neighborhood Services.
"DID YOU HIRE PEOPLE FOR THE JOB, OR DID YOU CREATE A JOB FOR THE PEOPLE?"
Stating that 6.5 million TL had been allocated for the directorate's personnel expenses, while approximately 639 million TL was allocated for other activities, Balıkçı posed the following question:
"Did you hire people for the job, or did you create a job for the people?"
SUPPORT FOR THE YENİ PARTY MEMBER'S REACTION
Following Balıkçı's reaction, Mayor Muzaffer Bıyık took the floor and stated that he also found the budget allocated for the Directorate of Neighborhood Services to be excessive, saying:
"Mr. Erhan is making a claim. A 6.5 million personnel budget appears for the Directorate of Neighborhood Services. In my opinion, it shouldn't be like this either. Where are we going to assign 6.5 million in personnel to the neighborhood headmen's offices?
Mr. Erhan is right at the moment. He was always wrong, but for the first time, he is right. There is no 6.5 million in personnel here. Mr. Erhan, let the 7.5 million budget be spent for the neighborhood headmen's offices, but there is no 6.5 million in personnel.
It's like we are doing phantom exports. Let's do the right things here. We will pull ourselves together on this issue and do the right things."
