6 detained, 4 arrested in operation against PKK/KCK

Four out of six suspects, who were allegedly preparing armed attacks and explosives in Istanbul under the instructions of B.İ., who is wanted for membership in the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, have been arrested. The weapons and explosive materials seized during the operation drew the attention of security forces.

The Istanbul Police Department conducted a large-scale operation regarding a long-barreled armed attack on a residence in Arnavutköy on September 9 and an improvised explosive device found in Sultangazi square on September 16. It was determined that B.İ., who is abroad and wanted for membership in the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, ordered the attacks to intimidate his spouse, who is in the process of divorce.

Following the attacks carried out by S.K., A.O., Y.I., and E.B. under the instructions of B.İ., teams conducted simultaneous operations on the vehicles and addresses used by the suspects. During the searches, a Kalashnikov rifle and 93 rounds of ammunition were seized. It was also determined that the vehicle where the explosive was to be placed belonged to B.İ.'s spouse.

Of the 6 suspects detained, S.K., A.O., B.Ö.O., and O.Ş. were referred to the courthouse, while E.B. and Y.I. were released under judicial control conditions. It is stated that the operation will continue and there may be further detentions.
