6 detained following Nevruz celebrations in Diyarbakır
The General Directorate of Security (EGM) announced that 6 individuals were detained for unfurling banners featuring photos of PKK members during the Nevruz celebrations in Diyarbakır.
In a statement made on the General Directorate of Security's social media account, it was stated that detention procedures were initiated against 6 people who unfurled banners featuring photos of PKK members during the Nevruz celebrations in Diyarbakır.
The following statements were used in the announcement made by the EGM:
"A simultaneous operation was carried out against six individuals identified as having unfurled a banner containing photos of organization members who were involved in terrorist attacks carried out in our country in past years, during the Nevruz events held in the province of Diyarbakır on 21.03.2026.
Within the scope of the operation, all of the individuals were apprehended and taken into custody.
Respectfully announced to the public."
