6 new victims in Professor Zoroğlu case: He placed his client living in Baku in his secretary's home

The supplementary indictment prepared against Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Salih Zoroğlu, who administered ketamine to underage patients at his private clinic in Bakırköy and coerced them into making false accusations of abuse against their families, has been merged with the main case. The supplementary indictment, which includes 6 new child victims, revealed that Salih Zoroğlu placed his client D., who lived in Azerbaijan, and her mother, T., with his secretary in Istanbul.

FROM BAKU TO ISTANBUL

In her statement, the mother, T., described how she met Zoroğlu:

"When Duygu was in the first grade, meaning she was 6 or 7 years old, a psychologist from my daughter's school called me one day and said that my daughter's mental health was not good and that she needed psychiatric support. Following this, I took my daughter to a psychiatrist in Baku. However, since our healthcare system is not as developed as Turkey's, I wanted her to continue her treatment in Turkey so she could receive better support. I shared this situation with my own mother, who is an obstetrician in Azerbaijan. My mother then contacted her physician friends in Turkey and directed me and my daughter to a doctor named A.Ü. working at Çapa. During a phone conversation, the doctor named A.Ü. directed us to a doctor named Süleyman Salih Zoroğlu, saying he was a very good doctor in his field. Through this, we met Süleyman Salih Zoroğlu at a time in early 2020."

'HMM, SO THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE FATHER'

Stating that Salih Zoroğlu did not provide her with information about the sessions, the mother, T., noted that Zoroğlu began making statements aimed at blaming the father during the fourth session, saying, “In the first session, a lady named Ayşe, the secretary, greeted us at the clinic. Doctor Salih Zoroğlu took my daughter D. directly into his office and conducted the first meeting. He continued meetings with D. once a week for three sessions. During these first three meetings, no information was given to me by the clinic or the doctor. In the fourth session, when I could no longer stand it and insisted on getting information about my daughter's illness and the doctor's diagnosis, Salih Zoroğlu said, 'Hmm, so there are problems with the father,' and then began asking questions like, 'Do you have any suspicions about the father?' I told Salih Zoroğlu that I never left my daughter alone with her father, that she was always in front of my eyes, that there was no possibility of the event occurring as he implied, and that I had no suspicions about my husband. I even want to state this: I had mentioned some complaints regarding domestic unrest related to my husband. However, within these complaints, I did not have any statement that would accuse my husband of sexual abuse. I had only said that my husband used profanity and cheated on me. When I told Salih Zoroğlu that my husband had not committed any sexual act against my child, he said to me, 'Wait, don't be sure, it's still too early, we will see at the end of the treatment,' and he continued the treatments and therapies with this prejudice,” she said.

'WE STAYED AT HIS SECRETARY'S HOUSE FOR MONTHS'

Stating that they lived in Baku, the mother, T., said that Zoroğlu did not allow them to return to their home country and placed them in his secretary's house, continuing her words as follows:

“We spent about 3 years with Salih Zoroğlu. At first, and for a long time, I tried to attend the sessions by changing many hotels in Turkey. Salih Zoroğlu was saying that we needed to continue the sessions regularly and that we should not return to our country for a while. I was trying to do what the doctor said so that my daughter could be treated. I lived in a hotel or sometimes in the residences of acquaintances we had in Turkey for about 1 to 1.5 years. However, when Salih Zoroğlu saw that this would not continue like this, he placed me in the house of his secretary, İnci. In the meantime, I also want to state this point: at the beginning of my statement, I said that Salih Zoroğlu's secretary was a lady named Ayşe. The person named Ayşe left the job about 4-5 months after we started at the clinic. As I learned later, Ms. Ayşe realized that Salih Zoroğlu was doing improper and wrong things at the clinic and left. Upon Ms. Ayşe's departure, Salih Zoroğlu hired Ms. İnci, whom he had known for 16 years, as his secretary. I don't want you to see the person I call Ms. İnci only as a secretary. As someone who stayed at Ms. İnci's house and spent the most time there, I want to say that Ms. İnci is Salih Zoroğlu's black box. She is privy to all of Salih Zoroğlu's secrets. After Salih Zoroğlu placed me in Ms. İnci's house, my daughter Duygu and I sometimes stayed at Ms. İnci's house for two months, sometimes three months in a row. We would separate from them when we went to our country from time to time. As I will mention later in my statement, Salih Zoroğlu did not allow us to go to our country in the last 2 years, so we spent more time at İnci's house. While all these processes were happening, my daughter's sessions with Salih Zoroğlu were continuing. My daughter D. was getting worse day by day. She started to become aggressive. She stopped eating, lost weight, and was constantly getting worse in the following days.”

'HE DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT THE MEDICATIONS'

Stating that her daughter D. had a crisis while they were staying at Zoroğlu's secretary's house in 2023 and that they went to the clinic at night, the mother, T., stated that they were not given information about the medications Zoroğlu used.

The mother, T., continued her words:

“When we arrived at the clinic, Salih Zoroğlu took my daughter into his office, sprayed something into her nose 3-4 times, and immediately took my daughter into therapy. They stayed in the room for about 3 hours until 06:00 in the morning. When the therapy ended around 06:00, my daughter Duygu was unconscious in the doctor's office. That was the first time I witnessed Salih Zoroğlu using such a substance. After this incident, I started to pay more attention to my daughter's treatment. In fact, after this process, my daughter started to get much more seriously worse. After those drugs, she was in a state of hating me too. In the following days, I also saw Salih Zoroğlu injecting a liquid into my daughter Duygu's arm muscle with a needle. Salih Zoroğlu normally did not give me information about my daughter's treatment; he did not tell me about the medications he gave my daughter and made her use, nor did he obtain any consent from me while using them. My daughter Duygu is normally very afraid of needles; when I am not there, no one can ever give Duygu an injection. When Salih Zoroğlu wanted to give Duygu an injection to inject ketamine into the muscle, Duygu cried and screamed. Since Salih Zoroğlu could not give the injection, he was forced to take me into the room and told me to stand by my daughter. Through this, I saw Salih Zoroğlu giving my daughter an injection. After this injection, my daughter Duygu would fall into an unconscious state, as if she were flying. These events would happen at the beginning of the session; towards the end of the sessions, Ms. İnci would prepare a juice for the children and put a drug in it, the name of which I do not know. It was a drug that was constantly in the cabinet; I don't know the reason for this, but I saw it in many sessions. It was happening in almost all of Duygu's sessions. When I asked İnci what the drug she put in the juice was, she would say, 'Don't get involved in these matters.'”
