6 students have been released under judicial control.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On Thursday, April 10, Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Chairman Erkan Baş held a meeting with university students at Gülhane Park. During the event, which was attended by students from Yeditepe, Koç, Marmara, and Yıldız Technical universities, Baş made notable remarks regarding the place and importance of youth in politics, stating, 'We need a different understanding of politics to build a new country. This movement has the power to change Turkey's destiny.'

Following the event, 43 people had been detained.

TİP Chairman Erkan Baş made a statement on social media regarding the released students.

'WE DO NOT HAVE A SINGLE YOUTH TO GIVE YOU'

In his statement, Erkan Baş included the following words:

'We have secured the release of all our young brothers and sisters who were unlawfully detained in Gülhane yesterday. They will return home, to their friends, and to the struggle safe and sound. We will not stop until the detained youth regain their freedom.

We do not have a single youth to give you. But the youth have the courage to save the country from those who act unlawfully!'
