6-year-old child dies after being struck by stray bullet in Gaziantep
A 6-year-old child who was wounded after being struck by a stray bullet in the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
A stray bullet struck 6-year-old Tuğrul Fırat Gökalp in the head on October 29 while he was playing in front of their home in the Dumlupınar neighborhood. Upon notification, 112 Emergency Health teams arrived at the scene and transported the wounded Gökalp to a private hospital in the city. The young child could not be saved during his treatment. Gökalp's body was delivered to his relatives following an autopsy at the Forensic Medicine Institute. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
