65-year-old cleaning worker dies after falling from 7th floor
Ali Rıza Susam, a 65-year-old cleaning worker at a business center in Kağıthane, lost his balance and fell from the 7th floor. Susam lost his life at the scene.
The incident occurred yesterday evening at a 7-story business center on 28 Kasım Street in the Gürsel neighborhood of Kağıthane, Istanbul.
According to allegations, 65-year-old Ali Rıza Susam, who worked as a cleaner at the business center, lost his balance while cleaning windows and fell into the ventilation shaft from the 7th floor.
Upon the notification of citizens who noticed Susam's fall, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
Medical teams determined that Susam had lost his life at the scene.
Susam's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
Eyewitness Hamdi Taşbaş spoke about the incident, saying, "He was a person from our neighborhood, he does window cleaning jobs and such; there is a space in the attic on the top floor, and he had the key. We don't know what he was doing up there, but he fell into the building's ventilation shaft, which is a seven or eight-story drop. We heard about it, and that is the incident."
Police teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
