650,000 people left homeless in Gaza!

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported that a severe humanitarian tragedy is unfolding in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli attacks that have been ongoing since October 7, 2023. According to the report, more than 650,000 people have been left homeless in Gaza during this period.

It was stated that the Israeli attacks targeting residential buildings in Gaza have resulted in widespread destruction and debris in the region. It was emphasized that approximately 12 million tons of debris need to be cleared. In this situation, it was reported that the return of the more than 650,000 people who lost their homes has become difficult, and many do not even have a safe home to return to.

It was pointed out that the situation in Gaza is worsening and that people are struggling to meet their basic needs. It was specifically noted that more than 100,000 families are in need of winterized tents, especially during the winter months.

The report also shared information that 1.9 million people have been forcibly displaced in the Gaza Strip, where approximately 2.3 million Palestinians live, as a result of the Israeli attacks. It was stated that many of these displaced people fled the Israeli attacks and took refuge in the Rafah region, which they considered safe. However, it was noted that those who took refuge in Rafah are also struggling to find a place to stay and are fighting for survival in makeshift tents.

According to Palestinian sources, the Israeli army has kept the Gaza Strip under attack from land, air, and sea, and it was reported that as a result of these attacks, more than 70,000 homes were completely destroyed, and more than 290,000 homes were partially damaged and rendered unusable.
