7 members of the Sarallar criminal organization arrested! Among them is Merve Özbey's husband
In Istanbul, 7 suspects, including a 3rd-grade police chief serving in Edirne and Kenan Koçak, the husband of famous singer Merve Özbey, have been arrested for aiding and abetting the escape of Turan Yıldırım, a member of the "Sarallar" criminal organization, abroad.
Within the scope of an investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime Investigation Bureau, a new operation was carried out against the Sarallar criminal organization. Ener Aktaş and Kenan Koçak, who helped the organization member Turan Yıldırım, for whom an arrest warrant had been issued, escape abroad, as well as 3rd-grade Police Chief Mehmet Deniz Karakurt, Commissioner V.G., police officers O.B. and A.Y., and Customs Enforcement Officer B.A. were taken into custody.
The suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse.
Within the scope of the investigation, the 7 suspects who were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for arrest on charges of 'harboring a criminal', 'migrant smuggling', and 'aiding an armed criminal organization' were arrested.
