7 people released under judicial control in İZBETON investigation
The number of detainees in the investigation into İZBETON, a subsidiary of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, has reached seven. The suspects, whose procedures at the gendarmerie were completed, were released by the court under judicial control conditions.
Developments regarding two separate tenders held in 2023, initiated by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, are drawing attention. Seven people, including former İZBETON General Manager Heval Savaş Kaya, were included in the detention list as part of an investigation involving allegations of "forgery of official documents," "rigging the performance of an act," and "misconduct in office."

Within the scope of the investigation, the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime teams of the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command carried out an operation on June 25. In this context, former İZBETON executives H.Ş., M.A.B., G.B., electrical engineer S.Ö., civil engineer S.Ç., and warehouse supervisor S.A. were apprehended. On the other hand, civil engineer M.İ., for whom a detention warrant had been issued, was also taken into custody later, bringing the total number to seven.
Among those for whom detention warrants were issued was former general manager Heval Savaş Kaya, who is currently in custody due to a separate case.
Following their interrogations at the gendarmerie, the suspects were referred to the courthouse. The relevant duty Magistrate Judge ruled for the release of all suspects under judicial control. It was also decided that the judicial control measure would be applied to the former general manager Kaya, who is currently in prison.
