In an illegal betting operation covering 10 provinces centered in Batman, it was determined that 81 suspects carried out over 2 million bank transactions. The total transaction volume was found to have reached 15 billion 172 million 805 thousand 258 Turkish Lira.
73 suspects were detained in an illegal betting operation conducted in 10 provinces centered in Batman. It was reported that 8 other suspects are still being sought as part of the operation.
Simultaneous operations were carried out in Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Izmir, Sakarya, Kastamonu, Nevsehir, Mersin, and Diyarbakir, in addition to Batman.
The investigation determined that black money obtained from illegal betting and virtual gambling sites was laundered by first being transferred to bank deposit accounts and then to cryptocurrency accounts.
It was determined that the 81 suspects carried out over 2 million bank transactions, and the total volume of these transactions reached 15 billion 172 million 805 thousand 258 Turkish Lira.
