77 million lira fraud via MESEM: 20 arrests!
An operation was carried out against suspects determined to have caused 77 million lira in public losses through irregular transactions using Vocational Training Centers (MESEM). 20 people were arrested as part of the operation.
In an operation conducted across 7 provinces centered in Kocaeli, 20 out of 38 suspects detained on allegations of defrauding public institutions and organizations were arrested.
Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Kocaeli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous operations were held on February 25 in Kocaeli, Istanbul, Hatay, Bingöl, Diyarbakır, Manisa, and Samsun on charges of defrauding public institutions and organizations. The 38 detained individuals were referred to the courthouse yesterday following their processing. Of the suspects whose statements were completed at the prosecutor's office, 20 were arrested and sent to prison.
77 MILLION LIRA FRAUD
While 20 of the suspects referred to the criminal judgeship of peace were arrested, the others were released under judicial control conditions.
Examinations revealed that the suspects carried out irregular transactions using Vocational Training Centers (MESEM) and caused approximately 77 million lira in damage to the public.
