8 resignations at once in MHP: We are not men of a man, but men of the cause

Following the resignation of Gültekin Oktay, who served as the MHP Burdur Provincial Chair, citing health reasons, Mustafa Gün was appointed to the position.

Following the appointment of the new provincial chair, MHP Burdur Central District Chair Hakan Subay, Ağlasun District Chair Mustafa Ayyıldız, Çavdır District Chair Mustafa Çakmak, Gölhisar District Chair Ali İhsan Vural, Karamanlı District Chair Ömer Karagöz, Kemer District Chair Müslüm Mete, Tefenni District Chair Ramazan Dağdeviren, and Yeşilova District Chair Yusuf Erkan resigned from their posts in a joint statement.

The following statements were included in the joint text published with the signatures of the 8 district chairs:

"WE ARE NOT MEN OF A MAN, BUT MEN OF THE CAUSE"

“Our esteemed fellow citizens, our valued comrades in the cause, as the entire Burdur public is aware, our provincial chair Mr. Gültekin Oktay resigned from his post last week, and we were awaiting the appointment of a new provincial chair by our Headquarters. The appointment of the new provincial chair was made by our Headquarters this afternoon.

First and foremost, it is the overwhelming opinion of the MHP Burdur organization and its supporters that the resignation of our Provincial Chair Mr. Gültekin Oktay should not have been accepted, and that he should not have been removed from his post through Byzantine games, slanders, and various schemes. We are not men of a man, but men of the cause. We are people who strive for the success of the cause.

We are the district chairs who bear witness, both in this world and the next, to our Chair Gültekin Oktay's commitment to organizational discipline, his protection of every member of the organization, and the superior effort he has shown for our cause and its success.

Therefore, the issue is not the person of Gültekin Oktay.

Because of his loyalty and service to the cause, because our fellow nationalists throughout Burdur felt that Chair Gültekin stood behind them like a mountain, and because he gave his days and nights to lead our party to success, we wished for him to continue as our Provincial Chair.”

"THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY TO WORK UNDER CURRENT CONDITIONS"

“While we were working day and night for the success of our cause, it was our most natural right to request that those who, by taking a former provincial chair with them during the 2024 elections, showed superior effort for the failure of our party and our party's candidates, not be given positions.

While we and all our fellow nationalists in Burdur were being subjected to insults and dealing with various slanders, shouldn't those who insult us, slander us, and work for our failure not only be denied positions, but not even be allowed under the shadow of the three crescents?

We are people who know what an organization is, what a Headquarters is, and who never have and never will disrespect these sacred institutions. We no longer have the strength to bear this situation. We, the district chairs who have fought with all our material and spiritual strength for the success of the MHP, have no possibility to work under the current conditions.

Under these circumstances, continuing our duties is contrary to the ordinary flow of life and politics. Maintaining our love and respect for our Chairman and our Headquarters officials, and remaining within this love and respect for a lifetime, we resign from our duties. Respectfully announced to the public.”
