83-year-old 'young man' triggers emergency response
Citizens in Samsun who saw an 83-year-old man swimming off the Black Sea coast called 112 to report a drowning. It turned out the man was simply swimming, prompting police, medical, coast guard, and lifeguard teams to mobilize.
Citizens who saw 83-year-old Nurettin Topsakal swimming off the Black Sea coast in the İncesu neighborhood of Samsun's Atakum district thought he was in danger of drowning.
Upon the situation being reported to 112, police, ambulance, and coast guard teams were dispatched to the scene.
Subsequently, the citizen, seeing the teams approach him, swam back to the shore.
It was learned that Nurettin Topsakal frequently swims by stroking out into the open water.
