833 delegates had signed: All eyes on that date for an extraordinary congress in the CHP!
Discussions regarding an extraordinary congress in the CHP may move to a new legal process. It is suggested that if the request for a congress, made with the signatures of 833 delegates, is not processed, names close to Özgür Özel may apply to the Civil Court of Peace after July 11, while it is also claimed that finalized expulsion decisions could be taken to the judiciary.
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his administration, who were brought to the CHP leadership through a decision of absolute nullity, have closed their doors to calls for an extraordinary congress.
The elected Chairman of the CHP, Özgür Özel, and his camp had submitted the signatures of 833 delegates for an extraordinary congress to the Headquarters. It has been claimed that if the nullity administration does not process the petitions, names close to CHP leader Özel may apply to the Civil Court of Peace.
ALL EYES TURNED TO THE DATE OF JULY 11
According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Türkiye Gazetesi, it is suggested that names close to Özgür Özel plan to wait until July 11 for a potential application. According to the party bylaws, it was stated that after the submission of signatures regarding the extraordinary congress request, the congress must be held on the last Sunday within 45 days at the latest, and that this date corresponds to July 26. It was stated that July 11 is considered a critical threshold due to the requirement that the congress decision must be announced at least 15 days in advance.
JUDICIAL PATH MAY ALSO BE ON THE AGENDA FOR EXPULSION DECISIONS
It was noted that another topic within the party that could be taken to the judiciary is disciplinary processes. It was suggested that if expulsion decisions to be made regarding deputies, mayors, and provincial chairmen who were referred to disciplinary action during the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu era are finalized, the relevant individuals could apply to the court on the grounds that these decisions are contrary to the party bylaws.
