97 people detained during protests at Boğaziçi University
A group of students protesting a conference at Boğaziçi University where Nurettin Yıldız was a speaker faced intervention from Riot Police units. 97 people were detained.
Nurettin Yıldız participated as a speaker in the conference titled "Islamic Sciences: For Whom, How Much?" organized by the Boğaziçi University Islamic Research Club (BİSAK). Before the conference, a protest march was held against Yıldız, while police teams took security measures on campus.
When police teams intervened against the group, a scuffle broke out. During the incidents, a total of 97 people, 39 of whom were women, were detained. It was learned that the processing of the detained individuals at the police station is ongoing.
POST FROM ÖZGÜR ÇELİK
CHP İstanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik made a post regarding the detentions in question.
In his post, Çelik stated, "We are at the Vatan Police Headquarters with our legal commission for our young people detained at Boğaziçi University. We are following the process together with our lawyers."
