A candidate in Hatay decides to withdraw from the election in favor of Lütfü Savaş

While no information was shared regarding the withdrawing candidate or their party, it was stated that an announcement would be made at a press conference on March 20.

In a report based on the statement made by the Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, the BirGün newspaper conveyed the municipality's announcement as follows:

“Dear Members of the Press, a political party's Metropolitan Mayoral candidate will withdraw from their candidacy and announce their support for our HBB Mayor, Mr. Lütfü Savaş.

HBB Mayor Mr. Lütfü Savaş will hold a press conference regarding the matter on Wednesday, March 20 (tomorrow) at 09:30. The press conference will be held in the HBB Assembly meeting hall (Expo) with the participation of political party officials.”

In Hatay, where it was stated that one candidate would withdraw from the election in favor of Savaş, 11 parties have nominated candidates for the Metropolitan Municipality. Although the candidacy of Gökhan Zan, nominated by the TİP, was withdrawn by the TİP, Zan had announced that he had not withdrawn from the candidacy.
