A gift from Bahçeli, who did not attend the Republic reception at Beştepe: Claims of a crisis between AKP and MHP
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, who did not attend the October 29 reception, made headlines with a gift he sent to Erdoğan after speculation began regarding a potential crisis within the People's Alliance.
The absence of People's Alliance partner and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and his senior staff from the October 29 reception held at the Presidential Complex drew attention.
Bahçeli had not attended the ceremonies held throughout the day, including the ceremony at Anıtkabir, where the MHP was represented by Celal Adan and Erkan Akçay. However, neither Bahçeli nor his senior staff attended the reception.
Journalist İsmail Saymaz suggested that a "disagreement over the Cyprus election" within the People's Alliance was a factor in Bahçeli's decision not to attend the reception.
WHILE CRISIS CLAIMS ARE BEING DISCUSSED, A GIFT ARRIVES FROM BAHÇELİ TO ERDOĞAN
Just as the absence of Bahçeli and his staff from the reception sparked commentary about a crisis in the People's Alliance, a new move came from Bahçeli.
The MHP Chairman sent a gift he had commissioned for AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan in honor of the October 29 Republic Day and the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.

The painting, which features Erdoğan's portrait and signature alongside the Turkish flag and the Presidential seal, includes a message from Bahçeli stating, "Happy 102nd anniversary of our Republic."
