A sad day for former Minister Rıza Akçalı
Fatma Akçalı (71), the late wife of former Minister of Environment Rıza Akçalı, was laid to rest in Manisa.
Fatma Akçalı, the wife of Rıza Akçalı—who served as a Manisa Member of Parliament for the 19th, 20th, and 21st terms for the True Path Party and as Minister of Environment in the 50th Government under Prime Minister Tansu Çiller—has passed away at the hospital where she had been receiving treatment for some time.
The funeral was brought to Hatuniye Mosque by her relatives. Rıza Akçalı accepted condolences there.
Fatma Akçalı's remains were laid to rest at Kırtık Cemetery following the funeral prayer held at the time of the afternoon prayer (ikindi).
The funeral ceremony was attended by Manisa Governor Enver Ünlü, Metropolitan Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, representatives from the worlds of politics and business, and citizens.
