A second arrest warrant had been issued: New development regarding Ahmet Özer!

Ahmet Özer, the CHP mayor of Esenyurt who was arrested on allegations of "being a member of the PKK/KCK armed terrorist organization" and replaced by a government-appointed trustee, had been issued a second arrest warrant by the court to which he was referred on charges of "rigging a tender".

Lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz announced that they have filed an objection to the second arrest warrant issued against Özer.

In a statement made on his X account, Ersöz noted the following:

"A 'second' arrest warrant had been issued against Esenyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer on allegations of rigging a tender, despite him having 'no legal responsibility' whatsoever.

We filed an objection yesterday to this unjust arrest warrant, which was issued despite the contradictions between expert reports—also mentioned in the press statement made by IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu—and the fact that the audit conducted by the Ministry of Interior 'did not attribute any responsibility to Ahmet Özer'.

Our objection will first be decided upon by the Criminal Court of Peace that issued the arrest warrant, and subsequently by the Duty Court of First Instance."

IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu had explained the wrongdoings by disclosing the name of the expert appointed in the investigations against himself and CHP-run municipalities during a press conference titled "Turpun Büyüğü" (The Big Radish).

İmamoğlu had stated that the expert in question was also involved in the operations against the Esenyurt and Beşiktaş municipalities.

ALSO PRESENT IN ESENYURT AND BEŞİKTAŞ OPERATIONS

"S.B. most recently appeared in the Beşiktaş and Esenyurt operations. 'Hello S.B.' comes to the rescue immediately. They say 'Snap', and 'Click', the report is out. If a case touches İmamoğlu, S.B. immediately appears before us. The connection of the IMM company to the Beşiktaş and Esenyurt operations is as follows; there is a secret file. But this file also covers İETT and İGDAŞ. This man establishes links between files.

S.B. is not alone here; there are two other experts. Look at a document dated January 3, 2025. There is a section regarding Ahmet Özer. 'Evaluated within the scope of the provision that Özer neglected, violated, and abused his duty to manage and administer the municipality...' So this is a report with 3 experts. Mr. Minister, listen carefully. The rule says; 'Experts must come together to hold a meeting and prepare the expert report jointly. After these meetings held as a board, an expert who expresses a dissenting opinion may prepare a separate report.' The real scandal is this: the other two experts did not sign this report. Only S.B.'s signature is on it. In other words, the prosecutor's office accepts this invalid report. And in the separately prepared expert report that was not accepted, Ahmet Özer's name is not mentioned."
