Striking 'lawlessness' comparison from ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş: It would be better if the government never changed

Striking 'lawlessness' comparison from ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş: It would be better if the government never changed

Mayor Yavaş, who visited Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek—who was arrested and sent to Döşemealtı L-Type Prison as part of a "bribery" investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office—subsequently visited his party's Antalya Provincial Headquarters.

Speaking during the visit, Mayor Yavaş said, "When you enter the hearts of the people, only the people themselves can remove you from there.

Mistakes you make against the public will remove you. Without making these mistakes, we have served more and previously received over 60 percent of the vote in Ankara.

We will continue to work to win the votes of the 40 percent who did not vote for us, and we will change the government. But if the goal is just to change the government and commit the same lawlessness ourselves, we should say so in advance; it would be better if it never changed at all.

Just as we have satisfied people with positive practices in our municipalities, we must now eliminate the law of retribution and promise a system where everyone is judged equally before the law, with an impartial and independent judiciary that is truly in accordance with the constitution and the laws. And if we achieve that, our country will then be at ease," he said.
