Statement from ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş regarding Melih Gökçek: We will submit our file soon

Mansur Yavaş stated that he provided information to Chairman Özgür Özel regarding Ankara while Özel was abroad, saying, "We provided them with the latest information. Previously, the Ministry of Interior inspectors had not asked questions regarding the file. They had asked questions upon the prosecutor's request regarding the audit duty. We wrote our response. I hope they did not see a need for an investigation. If they had seen a need, two civil inspectors stayed for a long time. They examined everything upon Osman Gökçek's complaint. They did not see a need to take statements," he said.

CHP Chairman Özel, stating that Yavaş is an exemplary mayor, said, "In recent days, a perception operation is being carried out. While their own past is full of files that exceed their height, and files on this matter are waiting at the courthouse, the Gökçek family, who cannot digest the rise of Mayor Mansur in the hearts of the citizens—unlike how they themselves have withered away day by day as long as they were in power—was pursuing a conspiracy with great indigestion.

We are talking about an operation they called 'good news' to each other in the middle of the night. It is clearly evident that my Mayor Mansur has no account that cannot be given, whether in internal audits, Court of Accounts audits, or audits by civil inspectors. They tried to blow things out of proportion as if there was something wrong regarding the request for permission related to the Civil Servants Law. We evaluated this situation," he said.

"WE WILL SUBMIT OUR BIGGEST FILE SOON"

When asked about the lack of an investigation opened against Gökçek, ABB Mayor Yavaş said, "I had explained it at the press conference. I had shown that giving the file to the same experts showed they were cleared in those investigations. What I showed there is only 10 percent. We have information like this about all the files.

Later, we submitted the files again. But we will submit our biggest file soon.

Also, we have two or three files that are about to reach the statute of limitations. They are very large files. To this day, their statements have not even been taken. The Seğmen water file, the cable car file.

The person who won the tender for the cable car file is an AK Party Provincial Vice Chairman. The public loss is 2.4 billion TL. He has not even been called to give a statement to this day.

At the same time, there is a decision of non-prosecution in favor of Gökçek, and there is a clear statement from the Secretary General of that day. Despite saying that they extended the period from 250 days to 1,250 days upon the instruction of Mr. Gökçek, no statement has been given to this day," he said.
