Abdulkadir Selvi's 'normalization' jab over Kavala: 'What is this speed...'

Hürriyet columnist Abdülkadir Selvi had been frequently criticized by the MHP for pointing out that the continued imprisonment of Osman Kavala could have negative effects on the post-March 31 'normalization' period. 

Osman Kavala's lawyer had filed a request for a retrial process, and the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court unanimously rejected Osman Kavala's request for a "retrial." 

"WHEN DID THE PANEL EXAMINE THE OBJECTION?"

In his column today, Selvi wrote, “The Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court, which examined the objection regarding Osman Kavala's retrial, rejected the application with the speed of a supersonic missile. And it did so unanimously. When did the panel, which was formed just a day before, examine the objection? What is this speed?”

"A GREAT OPPORTUNITY WILL BE MISSED"

“This development has become a new example showing that things are not easy in the Kavala file. Anyone who says this is easy is mistaken,” said Selvi, and added the following:

“If the fight continues on one hand while we talk about a politics of normalization, this process will be stillborn. Steps appropriate to the spirit of the times must be taken so that the politics of normalization is not sabotaged. If we say we will continue with the old practices, then this will turn into a false spring. A great opportunity will be missed.”
