Access ban on journalist Alican Uludağ's X account and 13 posts

An access ban decision has been issued regarding the X account and 13 separate posts by DW Türkçe reporter and journalist Alican Uludağ. According to information from the Freedom of Expression Association's (İFÖD) EngelliWeb platform, the decision was taken under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651 on the grounds of "protecting national security and public order."

In accordance with the decision, the 13 posts in question by Uludağ have been made invisible from Turkey by X. According to information shared by EngelliWeb, although the account itself was included in the scope of the decision, it has not yet been made invisible from Turkey.

TOPICS OF THE BLOCKED POSTS

•It was stated that the blocked posts contained criticisms and questions regarding the judicial system, the July 15 coup attempt, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality files, operations against CHP-run municipalities, and certain current judicial processes.

•According to the document shared by İFÖD, the posts included claims that a new judicial order is being established in Turkey, criticisms regarding the presumption of innocence and arrest practices, questions about political and military responsibilities before and after July 15, and criticisms directed at former Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar.

•The blocked content also includes questioning of operations against CHP-run municipalities, assessments regarding the İstanbul Adalar Municipality, and the reporting of allegations made by Fatoş Pınar Türker, General Manager of İBB Medya A.Ş., during her detention and defense.

•The posts also raised reactions to the assignment of terrorism prosecutors in investigations against journalists, the situation of BirGün reporter Kayhan Ayhan, the detention of theater artist Levent Üzümcü, detentions before the NATO Summit, and questions regarding the killing of Muhammed Kavi.

•Among Uludağ's blocked posts were assessments regarding the disagreement between the Council of State and the Ministry of Labor on identifying those responsible for the Grand Kartal Hotel fire, in which 78 people lost their lives, and criticisms of the judiciary's stance in the "absolute nullity" case within the scope of the debates at the CHP congress.

Alican Uludağ was recently detained due to an X post in which he criticized the judicial system, and was later released under judicial control conditions.
