An access ban has been imposed on news reports revealing that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Çetin, who was a signatory to the report prepared for the cancellation of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's undergraduate diploma, previously served in AKP-run municipalities and was active in TÜGVA.
According to the report uncovered by Sözcü, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Çetin served as a direct advisor to AKP Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Yüce in 2020 and held various positions within the municipality in this capacity.
Çetin, who was officially appointed as an advisor on June 3, 2020, also undertook the role of Culture and Arts Branch Manager at the municipality.

Not stopping there, Çetin also previously served as an advisor at Beykoz Municipality during the AKP era. Furthermore, he served as a member of the repertoire board of the City Theaters during the years when the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was under AKP administration.
Çetin's political connections are not limited to municipalities. It was also learned that Çetin, whose connection to the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) was recently identified, was a member of the foundation—which is under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's son, Bilal Erdoğan—and conducted academic activities there.
