Access ban on Socialist Republic Party accounts

Following the HKP, a social media access ban has now been imposed on the accounts of the Socialist Republic Party.

The ban was announced by SCP Chairman Gürkan Koç.

In his statement, Koç used the following expressions:

This blocking decision targets our party and political forces that oppose turning Turkey into an outpost for American and Israeli aggression via NATO. It is clear that the SCP and similar parties, which stand against the divisive new constitution process, are being silenced.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Regarding the Access Ban Imposed on the Social Media Accounts of the Socialist Republic Party and Socialist Republic Youth

As the Socialist Republic Party (SCP) and Socialist Republic Youth (SCG), we announce to the public that an access ban has been imposed on our official social media accounts as of today.

The official X accounts of our party and our youth organization have been subjected to an access ban by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) without any written justification provided and without any legal notification served to us.

This decision is clearly the product of an arbitrary administrative approach. Its justification has been hidden from the public, and we have not been informed of the legal basis upon which it rests. This situation is a serious violation that directly targets the principle of the rule of law. The AKP government is implementing a systematic policy of oppression against political actors, journalists, media outlets, and social movements. The lawsuits filed due to social media posts, the heavy sentences handed down, and the widespread access bans clearly show that the space for freedom of expression is being increasingly narrowed.

It has been announced by the authorized institutions themselves that access bans were imposed on numerous social media accounts in 2026 on the grounds of "combating disinformation." This action against our party is also a part of this censorship policy. We fundamentally know that this blocking decision,

targets our party and political forces that oppose Turkey being turned into an outpost for American and Israeli aggression through NATO. 

Likewise, it is clear that the Socialist Republic Party and similar parties that stand against the divisive new constitution process are being targeted for silencing.

We call on all republican forces to take a clear stance against this deliberate practice. What is being silenced is the voice of our independence!

In Turkey, the fear of imperialists and their local collaborators is the front of the homeland, labor, and the republic. This is the reason for the blackout applied to our party and republican forces. This effort to impose a blackout is the result of the government's attempt to cover up the truth, as it aligns its interests with the plans of imperialists and lies to its people.

However, it must be known that this ban will not stop our struggle. As the Socialist Republic Party, we will continue to maintain our political activities and communication with the public on every platform. We will immediately initiate all necessary legal processes for the cancellation of this unlawful decision. We will continue to defend our homeland, our labor, and our republic more resolutely and more strongly.
