Access ban on TELE2's report regarding 'meritless promotions at AA'
A publication ban has been imposed on the report titled "Meritless promotions at AA infuriate employees," published by TELE2—which was established following the appointment of a trustee to TELE1—on the grounds of 'protecting national security and public order.'
As part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, TELE1 Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ was detained, and a trustee was appointed to the television channel on October 24.
The channel's on-air personalities also announced their resignations a week later, stating that they would continue their journalism work. A statement regarding the matter was made today. The on-air personalities of TELE1, which had a trustee appointed three weeks ago, announced that they would continue their broadcasting life via social media and the internet under the name TELE2 HABER.
The Freedom of Expression Association (İFÖD) announced that access to TELE2's report titled "Meritless promotions at AA infuriate employees" has been blocked.
According to the association, the decision was taken on the grounds of 'protecting national security and public order.'
