Accident at a shipyard in Yalova: 1 person killed after being trapped between a container and a forklift
A chief engineer died and a shipyard manager was seriously injured after being trapped between a container and a forklift at a shipyard in the Altınova district of Yalova.
According to the information received, shipyard manager Alper Akalın and chief engineer Özkan Kara were trapped between a container and a forklift while inspecting the area following a storm at a shipyard operating in the Altınova Shipyard Zone in Yalova's Altınova district.
Akalın and Kara, who were trapped between the container and the forklift, were seriously injured.
Kara, who was taken to Yalova Training and Research Hospital by medical teams dispatched to the scene upon notification, could not be saved despite interventions.
It was learned that Akalın's medical condition remains critical.
