Accident on the TEM! Driver burned to death

On the Gümüşova ramps section of the TEM Highway, a tow truck with license plate 10 ADS 492, loaded with cars and driven by Yusuf İzzet Can (53), crashed into a semi-truck with license plate 42 P 8000, driven by Hüseyin Ü., which was traveling in the same direction.

Due to the force of the impact, the tow truck driver became trapped inside his vehicle. The flames quickly engulfed a car with license plate 34 ZF 2177, belonging to Recep T.Y., which was on the tow truck. The burning tow truck and car were extinguished by fire crews dispatched from Sakarya and Düzce.

DRIVER LOST HIS LIFE

Tow truck driver Mustafa İzzet Can lost his life in the incident. Recep T.Y. and İlker B., who were inside the car with license plate 34 ZF 2177 on the tow truck, were seriously injured and taken to the hospital.

Due to the accident, the Ankara-bound direction of the TEM Highway was partially closed to traffic, causing kilometers of traffic jams. The body of the driver who lost his life in the accident was taken to the Düzce University Research and Application Hospital Morgue following the public prosecutor's examination.
