Accident on the way to holiday in Şanlıurfa: Death toll rises to 3
A commercial vehicle struck a car carrying people traveling from Diyarbakır to Halfeti; following the death of 2 people, one more person who was critically injured has passed away.
The death toll has increased following a traffic accident that occurred near the Birecik district of Şanlıurfa. A commercial vehicle struck the side of a car carrying people who were reportedly traveling from Diyarbakır to Halfeti for a weekend trip, as the car was entering the highway connection road.

It was reported that a Mercedes Vito brand commercial vehicle with license plate 61 VS 420, whose driver's name has not yet been learned, struck the car with license plate 07 BJZ 451. Upon notification, health, gendarmerie, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

During the checks performed by medical teams, it was determined that Güneş Seydi and Zeynep Ecrin Seydi had lost their lives at the scene. The 8 injured individuals were taken to Birecik State Hospital and Suruç State Hospital by ambulances.

Among the injured who were taken under treatment at the hospital, 67-year-old Zemzama Sever, who was in critical condition, could not be saved despite the interventions of doctors. Thus, the number of people who lost their lives in the accident rose to 3.
It was learned that the treatment of the 7 people injured in the accident is ongoing. Authorities stated that the investigation into determining the cause of the accident is continuing.
