The third hearing of the trial in which former Turkish Medical Association (TTB) President and Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV) Board Member Şebnem Korur Fincancı was tried for "publicly degrading the State of the Republic of Turkey" was held at the Istanbul 69th Criminal Court of First Instance. According to the report by T24, Fincancı and her lawyer Oya Meriç Eyüboğlu did not attend the hearing, citing an excuse. TİHV President Metin Bakkalcı, TİHV Istanbul Representative Ümit Efe, Amnesty International, MLSA, and many journalists followed the hearing as observers.
The prosecutor, presenting their opinion on the merits, requested an acquittal on the grounds that Fincancı's statements subject to the case did not constitute the legal elements of the crime attributed to her. The court, deciding to reject the excuses due to the stage the file had reached, ruled for Fincancı's acquittal in line with the prosecutor's opinion on the merits.
