Following the detention of 12 activists by Israeli forces who were en route to deliver aid to Gaza, Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu has taken action. Davutoğlu announced that he would initiate the necessary procedures to travel to Gaza after the holiday.
Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu announced that he will travel to Gaza after the holiday, following Israel's intervention against the humanitarian aid ship "Madleen".
The 12 activists on board the Madleen ship, which was intercepted by Israeli forces in international waters, were detained. Protests have been held in many countries, particularly in Europe, in response to the intervention.
A reaction also came from Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu. Making a statement via his social media account, Davutoğlu described the incident as a "defiance of international law" and called on the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting.
Stating, "I will make the necessary initiatives with Egypt to go to Gaza after the holiday," Davutoğlu invited political parties to join a joint initiative. Davutoğlu added, "Large-scale campaigns should be organized to support the peace volunteers on the Madleen ship."
