Acun Ilıcalı resigns from Fenerbahçe board: 'I fought'

In a statement regarding the matter, the yellow-navy club said, "Our 2024-25 term board member and Vice President, Mr. Acun Ilıcalı, has resigned from his position on the Board of Directors.

Mr. Acun Ilıcalı has provided invaluable contributions to our board during his tenure, and his approach, which always prioritized the interests of our club, has been met with appreciation by our community.

We thank him for his dedicated service to date and wish him success and happiness," the statement read.

In his resignation statement shared on his social media account, Acun Ilıcalı included the following remarks:

Dear Fenerbahçe Community,

I would like to share with you that I have resigned from my position on the Board of Directors of Fenerbahçe Sports Club, which I have held with great pride.

I was born a Fenerbahçe fan. The yellow-navy jersey has been the purest and most enthusiastic part of my life since my childhood. Although I experienced difficulties from time to time during this process under the roof of the board of directors, every moment was a great honor for me. I received criticism, I received support, I fought. But I never forgot this: Everything here was for Fenerbahçe.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our President, Mr. Ali Koç, my esteemed fellow board members with whom I served, our invaluable athletes, the club staff, and most importantly, the great Fenerbahçe fans.
