Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar arrested

Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere, who were detained on Saturday as part of the “Aziz İhsan Aktaş” file on allegations of “corruption,” were among 13 people detained across two separate investigations.

The maximum 4-day detention period has concluded, and the CHP mayors, along with the other detained individuals, were taken for medical examinations. All 13 people were referred to the courthouse.

While a house arrest order was issued for Adıyaman Mayor Tutdere, an arrest warrant was issued for Adana Mayor Zeydan Karalar. It was decided that 5 other individuals, along with Karalar, would be arrested.

Evaluating the arrest of Zeydan Karalar during a live broadcast, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel commented, “The arrest of Karalar is unacceptable, a disgrace... However, these persecutions will continue to happen.”
