Adana woke up to an earthquake: Seismologist Naci Görür points to February 6
Four earthquakes occurred in Adana this morning, the largest being 4.6. Seismologist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür stated, "It can be said that this is an effect of the movements on February 6, 2023."
Three separate earthquakes with magnitudes of 4.6, 4.5, and 4.0 occurred one minute apart in the Kozan district of Adana this morning. Subsequently, another earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 occurred.
Cracks formed on the walls of some houses and workplaces during the tremors.
NACİ GÖRÜR WARNED
Making a statement on his social media account (X) following the Adana earthquake, seismologist Naci Görür pointed to the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş and made the following statement:
"A 4.8 magnitude earthquake occurred near Kozan/Mahyalar in Adana and on the Saimbeyli Fault Zone. This earthquake was followed by two more aftershocks greater than 4. The earthquake is not directly related to the East Anatolian Fault (DAF), but it may have transferred energy from it. It can be said that this is an effect of the movements on February 6, 2023."
