Additional expert report requested regarding Ferdi Zeyrek's death
As the investigation deepens into the incident where Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek lost his life after being electrocuted, an additional expert report has been requested.
In the incident that occurred on the evening of June 6 in the Yunusemre district of Manisa, Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek was electrocuted in the machine room of his home's swimming pool.
Zeyrek passed away on June 9 at the Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital, where he had been taken. His funeral was held on June 10 following prayers at Manisa Republic Square.
In the investigation launched following the incident, the pool water was drained, and the surrounding area and machine room were cordoned off with fences.
As part of the investigation, the motor in the pool's machine room, which was learned to have been repaired previously, was removed for examination. An additional expert report was requested to determine the source of the electric current.
