Addressing Erdoğan, DEM Party's Ömer Öcalan recounts his conversation with Abdullah Öcalan in Parliament!

Following the call by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli for "DEM to meet with İmralı," the DEM Party took action and applied to the Ministry of Justice to meet with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made a statement regarding the DEM Party's İmralı application, saying, "We are trying to determine a suitable day."

Speaking during the budget negotiations for the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in the TBMM, DEM Party Şanlıurfa MP Ömer Öcalan addressed AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to Sözcü TV, Ömer Öcalan, who met with Öcalan in İmralı one day after Bahçeli's call for "Öcalan to speak in Parliament," stated, "I went to İmralı. I visited Öcalan. We conducted deep analyses. Öcalan evaluated all periods of Turkish-Kurdish alliances, from Abdulhamit to Mustafa Kemal. He had solution proposals. He said, 'We can solve this through dialogue.' The point we have reached is the same. We are saying this again."

Stating that the pro-government media distorted the meeting in question, DEM Party member Ömer Öcalan said, "We can turn this historical process into a very great peace. Evaluations were made regarding the Kurds. There is a knot here regarding whether Turkish authorities will come to a solution or not. In Öcalan's solution proposal, it was said, 'Let us solve this with our own internal dynamics.' This issue has gained an international dimension."

Pointing out that 50 days have passed since his meeting with Öcalan, Ömer Öcalan addressed Erdoğan with the words, "The President has done many things, both positive and negative, up until now. If he solves the Kurdish issue, he could reach a different position. Erdoğan must take the initiative."

Saying that "Nationalists are indispensable" for a new solution process, Öcalan added, "If they are not involved, it will be very difficult. If they are involved, this issue will definitely be solved."
