Admission from Minister Uraloğlu: Data of 85 million stolen! 'Unfortunately, it could not be prevented...'

It was revealed in recent days that the personal data of citizens, such as their Turkish ID numbers, addresses, and mobile phone numbers, had been stolen.

Making a statement on the matter, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu confirmed that the identity information of 85 million people had been stolen.

"UNFORTUNATELY, IT COULD NOT BE PREVENTED DURING THAT PROCESS"

Responding to journalists' questions following the Cabinet Meeting at the Palace, Uraloğlu stated that there was a leak in the Ministry of Health's system during the pandemic period and said the following:

"You remember that during the pandemic process, it was a leak from the health system. Other than that, there is nothing. There is no data regarding the theft of people's current data. It is true that some information was unfortunately obtained in a certain way during the pandemic process. Unfortunately, it could not be prevented during that process."
