'Advocacy' row on pro-government channel: Tensions rise between Nagehan Alçı and Fuat Uğur
Pro-government journalists Nagehan Alçı and Fuat Uğur clashed on TGRT Haber, a channel close to the ruling party.
Tensions rose on the Medya Kritik program broadcast on TGRT Haber, a channel close to the government.
During the program, which discussed Gürsel Tekin—who was appointed as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency and recently requested access to accounts—pro-government journalist Nagehan Alçı snapped at the program's moderator, Fuat Uğur, saying, "If you want to be Gürsel Tekin's volunteer lawyer, go ahead, you can change fields and become one."
Uğur responded with the words, "If you are going to be the lawyer for İmamoğlu and Özgür Özel, then go ahead and defend them."
Alçı's remark, "I am acting as the lawyer for the AK Party," drew attention.
