Data released by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has once again laid bare the reality of Turkey as an earthquake-prone country.
According to AFAD data, 32,500 earthquakes were recorded in and around Turkey in 2024. A statement regarding the matter was made via the social media account of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The post included the following statements:
"In 2024, 32,500 earthquakes were recorded and evaluated by the AFAD General Directorate of Earthquake and Risk Reduction, Department of Earthquake."
